On The Town with Jan Carson August 2015

Margaret Alkek Williams is undoubtedly the most honored philanthropist in the history of Houston, and for good reason. She has a Heart of Gold… and she touches countless lives through her contributions. That’s why The Health Museum is honoring Margaret Williams at its “Hearts of Gold Gala” on Sept. 25 at Hotel ZaZa. Drs. Mary and Paul Klotman and Drs. Julie and Marc Boom are chairing the event, which also honors women in health and medical science. Call 713-927-6316 to reserve your tickets.

Annual Awards Luncheon

It’s the rare fundraising event that donates 95 cents of every $1 raised for charity… and once again Houston’s Men of Distinction Luncheon has achieved that goal. Over the past nine years, the event has raised more than $3 million for various Houston medical initiatives. This year four of Houston’s most philanthropic leaders were honored as 2015 Men of Distinction — Harry Mach, John Riley, Dr. Bud Frazier and David Weekley. Proceeds are earmarked for medical research.
